Ariyah furrowed her brows, mentally trying to figure out what Yuri meant. Finally giving up, she just asked, “I’m sorry, so that’s some voodoo tool? I can’t say I’m familiar with the occult…” Ariyah let her words taper off; she didn’t know enough about the occult to know if she was on the mark or not. “I mean, I didn’t know it was possible to bring the dead back to life, or do you mean the tool helps you with the Embrace?”
She figured it must be an extraordinary tool, considering how he even carried it with him to Court. And now that she thought about it, she remembered seeing him with it at the Toreador meetup as well.
When the bell rang through the ship, Ariyah looked to see where the sound came from. There seemed to be some commotion above deck, and Ariyah strained to hear Collin’s announcement over the murmur of conversation in the stores.
“Ah, so the man who was involved in the altercation earlier is called Robert Meyer.” Ariyah took a sip of her wine, looking at Yuri, “What were you talking to him about earlier anyway? You looked nervous as if he was giving you a hard time or something. And that other Kindred – Lambert was it? – did not look happy to be there at all.”
