[Yuri – Stores – BoL – NA]
Yuri watched her reach up to play with a ring around her neck. Just like how he carries his box with him, perhaps that was her equivalent to an important item from their mortal life? Yuri shook his head slowly, accepting her sympathy but also waving it off. “It’s alright. It’s been years by now. I do miss them, yes, but I’ve coped with their deaths.”
His expression turned into what would’ve been an unamused frown, if he took the mask offs Yuri’s silver eyes going dull as she resisted the temptation to laugh. “W-well, I only saw the back of his head, and it looked kind of similar so… you know, I thought…” his voice trailed off, the young man somehow making himself smaller in his seat. When she called themselves blood-sucking monsters, even more worry flashed across Yuri. He wasn’t upset that she called them monsters— he’s very well aware of the beast inside —but was more upset of the reminder. The monster that dwelled deep within, stirring and waking once in a while… it scared Yuri, delaying it for now but someday, he knows that he won’t be able to control his beast. If or when that day comes…
Yuri pursed his lips tightly and gripped his dress pants underneath the table. No, he won’t let that happen. Somehow, if he can get enough power, he may be able to control his beast, even if it’s for a short time. Then at least he knows he’ll have a brief window to see her… the one and only woman who saw Yuri for Yuri, the Woman he loved so dearly but was forced to abandon to uphold the Masquerade. “Perhaps… but I still rather remain out of the spotlight. I’m not like most other T-Toreadors… I don’t have the looks, the charms o…o-or any… widely-acceptable skills. The only reason I survived this long without my sire was because I stayed underground. It’s where I belong anyways, where no one can see me. ‘Backstage’ as they’d say.”
