[Ariyah – Post Ashes Gallery – Bar Area – BoL – A – Fame 2]
Ariyah was pleasantly surprised that Tobias brought up her work. She had assumed William had passed on her contact details but not the specifics of her company.
“Yes, I’m the muralist, at your service.”
She watched as a few more Roses entered, some surprisingly shy considering the Clan that they were in. Although, to be honest, Ariyah had found Clan stereotypes to be a little inaccurate.
Ariyah returned to the bar to get a glass of wine. Blood wine was something she’s not tasted since fleeing Melbourne, and she missed the taste. She hadn’t found any in Seattle, and it wasn’t available at Elysium; she had to ask Tobias where he’d acquired it from.
When Tobias stood up to make a toast, Ariyah looked around at the assembled Toreadors. She’s only met a couple since entering Seattle’s Kindred society, and neither of them was there. She could only assume that they were late.
She raised her own glass at Tobias’ toast, inwardly accepting the fact that she’d have to mingle and socialise without any known acquaintances to help lubricate the social interactions.
She took a sip of the wine and discovered that her memories of the stuff didn’t do it any justice. It was flavourful and, more importantly, it brought back memories of another time.
Ariyah closed her eyes to savour the taste, and when she opened them again, she spotted a familiar face entering the bar.
“Mr Harley, nice to see you tonight. Thank you again, for passing my contacts to Mr Durant so that I would be invited to this lovely party.”
